Two Clowns and a Half

Two Clowns and a Half (2014)

Script Reading – Main Hall, Tehran City Theater

Public Performance – Nazarzadeh Kermani Hall, Iranshahr Theater Complex

December 2014 – January 2015

Two Clowns and a Half was among the most extraordinary and unconventional projects of Jalal Tehrani’s career. From its first table read to the photographers’ preview performance, the entire production was completed in just ten days. Within this remarkably compressed period, every stage of the process—including rehearsals, scenic, lighting, and costume design, as well as the construction of the production—was carried out, allowing the performance to open on its scheduled premiere date. The production was performed by students of Jalal Tehrani at Maktabe Tehran, including two artists who had previously studied playwriting under his supervision. The project thus served not  only as a theatrical production but also as a practical demonstration of Maktabe Tehran’s educational philosophy, highlighting the transition from artistic training to professional performance within an intensive collaborative process.
