One of the defining features of The Season for Kite Hunting was its daring use of a single performer on the stage of Tehran City Theater’s Main Hall. The play follows a woman as she journeys through fragments of memory in search of her family, herself, and ultimately, her own identity. Although the play is inherently somber and tragic, Tehrani deliberately shaped the production’s visual style, performance vocabulary, and acting approach to prevent the protagonist from becoming an object of pity. His intention was to preserve the character’s dignity and emotional complexity, resisting melodramatic sentimentality and ensuring that the performance never descended into the aesthetics of ritual lamentation. A notable event accompanying the production was the organization of Iran’s largest Iranian-style red carpet ceremony, held in collaboration with the National Carpet Center of Iran. The event welcomed more than 500 guests, including distinguished figures from the worlds of theatre, cinema, visual arts, sports, politics, and culture, making it one of the most significant cultural gatherings associated with a theatrical production in Iran.
